![]() This disruptive, non-lethal distortion repeater is only compatible with the nose-mount on the Aegis Vanguard. Mess with an aggressor's electrical system with the ATVS from Behring. ![]() It is the default weapon of Vanguard Sentinel. It is a part of the Vanguard Special (VS) series of weapons designed to meet the unique requirements of Aegis Dynamics, which is only equippable on the nose-mount of the Vanguard series. One of them may have a meta that is 'strong' against your loadout, but another may have a meta that is 'weak' against you.The Behring ATVS Repeater is a size 2 distortion Ship to Ship repeater exclusive to the Vanguard series. if there are 10 metas, then each ship that attacks you has a high chance of having a different loadout, and the battles will play out differently each time. This is mainly because if there is one dominate Meta, then every ship that attacks you will have that same Meta. But, if there are enough recommended builds and loadouts, then it no longer matters. the Arrow factory is in this system, and the Gladius factory is 10 systems away, so replacing a Gladius takes a lot longer and is more expensive, etc.īut all that aside, you're right that there will always be 'recommended builds' and 'Flavour Of The Month' loadouts, etc. Thus, the 'meta' may even change geographically, based on what's the best combination in this region, simply because e.g. New Weapons Guns are getting bigger Star Citizen Alpha 1.3 adds a larger Size 4 Behring Combine Ballistic Cannon intended for use with the upcoming flyable Retaliator. Currently, you get the ship back with the aftermarket weapons still installed - but long term, I think that will change to being a current payout, or only having them fitted if those weapons are available at the time of the claim (or ship availability, etc). Thank you to our elite vanguard of volunteer testers who have made today’s release possible. It's unknown whether equipment availability will have the same impact - it depends on how CIG handle insurance for aftermarket equipment. meaning if too many people are flying the current 'FOTM' ship, insurance replacements for that ship will take a lot longer. Supposedly, ship replacement is going to be limited by availability. True - but that's also why I think there will be multiple metas - and knowing which to pick (and knowing you can't change it once you've left the hangar, etc, at least until you land again), will make it a lot less 'certain'.Īnother consideration is also equipment and ship availability. the old Star Wars or Wing Commander games, where ships typically had 2x 'damaging' weapons and 2x 'disabling' weapons, and you would switch between them based on mission objects and which ones had ammo / were charged up, etc. Or, for a more classical view, look at e.g. Therefor, most of the time it's far more efficient to mount a selection of weapons, and picks the ones that are 'best' for the particularly situation (even switching in a single fight, as range etc changes) If you think Mechwarrior etc, you can put loads of weapons on a Mech - but if you're not careful a single alpha-strike can be enough to overheat your mech and shut you down. ![]() Hopefully, CIG will also do something to make it less efficient / optimal to be firing all your weapons at once. The best when trying to be stealthy isn't the best when you're happy to light up like an xmas tree, and so on. The one that's best against Shield X may not be the best against the Tevarin shield. ![]() The loadout that is best against a small agile ship (like an Arrow) probably won't be the best against a larger ship. It will probably become 'metaS', not a single meta.
